Job hunting is a lie now

This was my response to a web cartoonist asking us how was the job hunt in our countries: 

Job hunting in the US is awful! Everything they say is a damn lie: if you're already employed, it's easier to move up = LIE, if you have the qualifications listed, you have a foot in the door = LIE, if you attend this type of school, you will be a worthy job candidate = LIE. I worked at my college alma mater for several years, in different job positions and was even a supervisor at one point, and applied in strategic ways: I applied to teach at my high school alma mater, which was one of my college's satellite locations, and they told me they already had someone even though they had put up a job notice online. My resume also sat for 2 YEARS in another pile(on their database) when I applied to work at another campus I was familiar with because I attended their book fair events often. Now I'm home trying to build my own business.
