I posted this on Twitter and now I'll elaborate...
As I go through the journals where I write down my comics' scripts, I see notes as recent as a few years back, telling myself I won't be able to artistically do something or that literary device I might not pull off.
But since working on and actively posting the comic drafts on a consistent basis on social media, I realize now I've solved many issues and blockages within myself as a writer and as an artist.
I have plans for this story, which, alongside my graduate thesis, is the longest fiction I've worked on and especially as far as comics go. I have now been rough-sketching, a sort of drafting before I do a final, the same as I do for my prose works, and I can see the differences from pages in 2018 to now. I'm crossing out notes to myself as I go along.
And as far as those plans go, I'll be looking into self-publishing and other ways of publishing this idea on platforms that did not exist when this comic idea came into being. Sorry I can't speak deeper into those plans, but they involve much planning, steps, and process I'm not willing to speak about, or even post about now. And if I'm being coy or mum, know that my own family and friends don't have all the details for my goals for this comic.
I'll be posting something about the recent Asian hate crimes that have been happening next time. Until then, please be safe, wear masks, physically distance, and if you're able to receive the vaccination, by all means, do so.
Again, dear readers, thank you that we got through 2020 and 2021 began with all these horrible and tragic events. May the rest of 2021 be a little kinder.
