'Invitation to World Literature' continued...

Or, as one expert put it, in Arabic, it is "Alf layla wa-layla" - roughly, "The Thousand Nights and One night".
It is explained that not only has this story:
a) Polarized our mainstream and pop culture
b) In the West, this work is seen as Children's literature
c) In many part of the Middle East, it is censored or banned for its sexuality, depravity, debauchery, and other negative things
