You know, it's okay...

These past few months have been stressful with a lot to do. Which is why I haven't uploaded my website's new live version. I also need to update my DeviantArt as well. But I'm also working on pet projects I had put aside for years only to realize how far behind I am in my personal creative life. So, I'm going to post some verses below for anyone who's either feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or lost in their own Artist Life:

You know, it's okay to quit.

(That project that's not going anywhere? Yes, that.)

You know it's okay to start over.

(With your career, with old ideas, with new ideas, with a different pathway. It's okay.)

You know. It's okay to rest. 

(To take those naps. To detach for a bit. No one owes all your time. No one owes you all the time. Only you owe you.)

You know it's okay. 

(To recharge oneself. To 'flip the script'. To reinvent how you want to be.)

You Do know it's all okay, right?

(To change. To remain the same in some things. To be stable. To be kinetic. All of it is okay.)

New Year's Is Almost Upon Us

Had family over. A lot of talking. Loud and competitive. Couldn't hear myself think for days, and that's when all the ideas began to hit me all at once.

It's the last Saturday of 2017. How weird is that? I usually have something pithy to say but I've got nothin' this time. Just bingeing on some leftover Xmas TV shows I couldn't watch with so many people over.

Did some sketching in some pocket size sketchbooks I unknowingly purchased online, so, hurray for me (and I say that without sarcasm).

Have some big projects I need to work on and those are tied in with goals for next year (which is in two more days! *Gasp*) and I have some I really don't WANT to work on.

Gotta do more promoting for this blog and other publications I did over time while working on these larger projects... Sigh. 

Another post or two before the New Year, I guess. 

More projects upcoming!

Now that this is my last week at work, I'm gearing up for some personal projects I can take off the back burner. When these are completed and possibly uploaded, I will let my readers know through this blog and other social media.

In-between

Ten days ago, I finished and turned in my packet. Now I'm drafting the next packet so I can have a workable body to edit as the next deadline is fast approaching.

I have sketches to work on as well as an art commission. Not looking forward to all this work! I don't mind that my novel is coming along. What I mind is there are other projects vying for control: personal comic story, art and illustration, and a critical essay that is blessedly due in two months.

Tune in for future posts that will be a bit more positive!

Semester ending.. Got some projects done

LAST WEEK OF THIS SEMESTER!

But, thanks to my new Android notebook (I treated myself to a low-cost netbook), I got to complete a couple of projects: essay for my college's online magazine, my submission for upcoming residency. And just yesterday, finally completed that article idea. *Keep fingers crossed when I submit it*

I will be tweeting/blogging the netbook (I've been testing it and it's exceeded my wildest expectations - gave it 5 stars on Amazon.com)!

Now to updating my Tumblr - it's been sorely neglected.
