I'm READY for Camp NaNoWriMo! ...I think...

Okay, went off on a tangent with the previous post. A few of my students point this out to me. Good thing I'm in a lab and not a classroom. I think I would serve better to be a lecturer and do a few workshops. However, gotta concentrate on the short stories and comic ideas I feel more confident in working on. Also, I have three submissions in the pipeline now and the suspense is killing me while I try to distract myself with other projects. Below are some of my new goals for 2019.

These aren't all of them. I can still keep some stuff private.

No more chasing fellowships (won't turn down a recommendation or if someone sponsors me, though!)
No more seeking pro-blogging jobs (unless invited and I have other deadlines cleared)
Putting the canine historical on the backburner (for now)
Returning to feline epic fantasy
Drafting updated science fiction series
Returning to comic stories
Returning to more illustrations within the speculative genre

Right now, I'm putting energy into Camp for April 2019. My account still works and I have new equipment and a new vision. I'm so glad to my readers who have stayed with me and I appreciate you who have been with me on this journey.

Let's rock 2019! Or, at least, skip pebbles. :)

New Year's Eve... What's in store?

My last post(s) for 2017.

It has been intriguing, exhilarating, and exhausting. I pray for you all because I believe in prayer's power. I have a lot of plans for my writing, for my art, and projects that need completion.

May 2018 be the year your wishes and dreams are also fulfilled.

New Year's Is Almost Upon Us

Had family over. A lot of talking. Loud and competitive. Couldn't hear myself think for days, and that's when all the ideas began to hit me all at once.

It's the last Saturday of 2017. How weird is that? I usually have something pithy to say but I've got nothin' this time. Just bingeing on some leftover Xmas TV shows I couldn't watch with so many people over.

Did some sketching in some pocket size sketchbooks I unknowingly purchased online, so, hurray for me (and I say that without sarcasm).

Have some big projects I need to work on and those are tied in with goals for next year (which is in two more days! *Gasp*) and I have some I really don't WANT to work on.

Gotta do more promoting for this blog and other publications I did over time while working on these larger projects... Sigh. 

Another post or two before the New Year, I guess. 

This is it...

Here it is! 12 days until my and my cohorts' commencement. It is both stirring and thrilling as well as frightening.

I can finally read the books I've wanted to read. I can now take in the books that I could only skim through, and finally, there are projects, both visual and prose arts I must begin to tackle on a goal-oriented basis.
Also, the real-world interferes: I must begin to look over my CV (Curriculum vitae) and update it accordingly. I'm also making calls and job-hunting but not because I am jobless but to break through to a better career.

As one life ends, we have to take into account that we turn that page over to begin a new chapter. To continue our story as I try to finish my novel this year.

I point to each of you to work on your personal goals. To adjust your settings according to your life's journey. I told one of my students last week: do not try to catch up with others but only to catch up with yourself.
I encourage my readers and visitors to this blog to do the same. It is YOUR journey. Do as you see fit. Set goals and keep them. Look to your destination.

A Quick Note--

Let me just say that I am still working feverishly. This is my final term. I'm both frightened and excited. There are many things to put in place. Many side projects to work on and possibly submit. I know that after commencement, I can settle down. But let's get the tasks lists in place. So many goals to accomplish and so much to do. Let's wait and see! I hope you'll still be with me and bring more friends and readers this 2015!

Time Is Of the Essence

Graduation is fast approaching. My graduation.
Goals are being made.
I am outlining and taking this novel to the next level and pushing to try new things with writing.

Now it's November and getting down to the wire! So many things due: annotations, creative portions, 25-page essay, and the feedback and research that one accumulates in a semester...

I have so many questions for myself and what I might try to do.

Evernote(r) is an app that can cross platforms for simple note-taking, rigorous note-taking, research-gathering, posting images, recording and clipping web articles. It is such a handy app that I had to download it to both net book and desktop.

Unless you have used it, you have no idea how helpful it's been since a student at my campus told me about it!

I can't count when I was pressed for time (what with the job and looking into extra-income opportunities) and how, with only my cellphone, I hurriedly typed out an entry, bookmarked and clipped a webpage for research, or recorded a reminder (Ok. I only did that once, but it doesn't mean I won't continue it into a habit).

Had to turn in some more deadline PDFs... Ay, and I'm still working on the novel. While taking time to catch up on personal reading, I try to remind myself to always have time for other creative projects.

Here's to hoping to catch up and keep up! *Whew*!

Birth of a website...

It was a struggle. A personal and professional one. I was newly out of university with an IT degree, and because I could not pass the exams, my employment prospects were slim. Most of the jobs I wanted needed people with either or both C++, A+, Java and MCSE certifications.
All my life, I was a better scholar than student.
A better learner than test-taker.
Like Clint Eastwood said, "A man's got to know his limitations." and I knew mine. I needed fresh, new plans.. I needed to build a website.
