My life in print and online

Do you know what this is?

Except for online magazines, online journals, and stories made into podcasts, these are proof of my freelance life. Starting officially in 1998 is when I actively sought publication.

Between roughly 1999-2007
Most of my works appeared in fanzines (fan-made magazines), stab/side-stitched title PawPrints and comb/plastic-bound Fur Visions.

By 2007-2010
This was also the time I began getting illustrations published. My works began life with online publications such as Anthrozine, a small press that produced that lovely thick book you see in the image, and sold on a small-press bookseller as print and as an ebook!
Anthrodreams, a podcast publisher which became my first paid work. And though I continued with constant online work, some online publications became print anthologies with perfect binding.

In 2010-2013
So many opportunities to publish online! I tried my hand again with articles and essays. I was published in my first literary journal in American Athenaeum having seen print earlier with their online sister journal, 1Bookshelf. The print also sold as an ebook!

During 2012, I published, under a pen name Goblinrant, rather slowly, a series of articles about animation and comic book pop culture. I'm very proud of them but wished I was quicker to churn them out. Ah well.

2013-2015
Next were more publishing with online journals and my foray into guest blogging and publishing with my college alma mater. These were art pieces, essays, and a short story. I still tried to find more print publishers though I enjoyed online publishers because there is more dissemination. I also found another genre literary journal that unfortunately went belly up.

By 2015, I ended up in another literary magazine Prick of the Spindle which was the first time in years my work came in print again and sold in print and as an ebook. It was also my return to the short story form.

2016-2017
More genres in print. More guest-blogging. More trial and error with expanding my work. I had a short story in an online literary journal, a poem(!) and illustration featured in an official convention booklet, and again in a print literary journal, The Tishman Review with perfect binding and in large-magazine format size!

You can see the covers to all these books I mentioned (and an e-literary journal) on my biblio blog The Angry Goblin at WordPress!

Upcoming Publications... American Athenaeum : Front Porch

Another bit of good news: Remember my essay on 1Bookshelf some months ago?

Well, 1Bookshelf is only one of many titles under the Sword and Saga Imprint.

Next month, my essay "Where did childhood and Childcraft go?" will appear in American Athenaeum's Front Porch issue!

Upcoming Publications... Allasso Volume 3

Couldn't have this blog and only showcase what is work-in-progress now, could we?

My publishing extends about 13 years ago, but it did not stop.
I am still being published and trying to keep my fiction and art in the public eye (or as much of the public as I can receive!:)))

I will embed the following links so you don't have to go traipsing around the 'Net looking for these journals once they come out.

Pink Fox Publications Allasso Volume 3 will be re-publishing my 2001 short story "The Merchant's Daughter" *Squee!*I am SO excited!*
This is amazing for me because I have actually been around long enough that I have works out-of-print!
 ~~~
(Anecdote incoming...) About 1-3 years ago, I queried an editor if he could reprint another earlier, published story, and he explained that, as long as I gave information about when and where it first appeared, he could reprint it. I keep obsessive track of all I have in print: hardcopies, URLs, titles to journals, and which piece appeared when and where.
(You can also check the Bibliography/Work cited webpage of my website for complete listing)
Once I submitted the information, the editor proceeded to tell me that he appreciates the classic journals and the chance to republish works of that time. He further said the younger readers now don't know the older stuff, so it's good for them to read it! (End Anecdote)
~~~
Can you BELIEVE THIS? That's CRAZY! I used to think you had to be dead to have things out-of-print, to be considered a classic, but I digress...

Also, why I am MORE excited:
The Author's List!
I know some of these writers, or, at least, am familiar with or read their works!
I had to be professional during the interaction with the editor, but later, totally geeked out when I saw the lineup I'm included in! (Is this what rookies feel like when they end up on their idol athlete's team?!)

First short story published is now a podcast!

Hello Everyone!

Sorry, have been busy: Tweeting, revising this blog, and The Copper Sphinx.
This as well as working on new sketches, uploading a comic strip to Media Junk Food's Facebook page (I will provide the links for all this below), as well as trying to go through older files to complete other stories/projects.

*WHEW*

Anthropomorphic Dreams Publishing turned the "Su Ling" short story into one of their recent podcasts.
"Su Ling" is dear to me. It is the FIRST story I published back in 2000 in the now out-of-print fanzine "PawPrints".

(Anthropomorphic Dreams made another hardcopy story of mine into a podcast. Check out my official website "Tabber the Red" for complete details about my publications. All links are as current as I can make them.)

Furry Writers' Guild, my writers' group, announced the republishing of this story on our homepage!

(More details about what inspired this short story, as well as my biography, in a nutshell, is provided within the podcast.)

Check out these out to see what I've been doing! More to come! And Thank You for your wonderful comments and insights! I'm humbled and grateful.
